Name and location

My name is Noemí López. I make paper in North Carolina.

What is a thing you love about paper and papermaking?

I have always enjoyed writing to my family and friends so when I discovered I can make my own paper my brain started storming with all the beautiful possibilities of making my very own beautiful stationary.

Where do you make paper? Your kitchen? Basement? Outside? Somewhere else?

What are some things you like to do with your paper once it’s made? Cards? Crafts? Something else?

I love to make the paper into cards and I also love using the paper as cover for little handmade notebooks to gift to my family and friends.

Tell us your favorite Arnold Grummer product and how you first learned about the company.

My papermill complete kit is amazing (see it here). When I saw the different molds on the internet I started searching for a paper making kit, and that’s where I saw the Arnold Grummer’s one. I did a bit more research and I realized Arnold Grummer was a paper making legend. His videos definitely helped me decide to invest in the kit I got!

Share a thought, bit of advice, or encouragement for someone interested in trying papermaking.

If you like crafting you definitely need to try to make paper even if it just for fun! My advice will be to prepare the pulp in advance if you have the time and enjoy the process!

  1. Noemi, thanks for kicking off ‘Look Who’s Making Paper’ in such fine style. The embossed leaf card is dramatic. I hope your friends and family acknowledge how lucky they are to receive such fine gifts – handmade paper cards and books!
