Supplies Needed

White junk mail envelopes to recycle Large, flat seeds: marigold or zinnia work well Standard card (A2) or 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 cardstock, folded Same or coordinating cardstock piece for layering: 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 Florist Card or garden theme stamped or mixed media image: 2 x 3


1. Recycle white junk mail envelopes following the steps for blending in your papermaking set. 2. Add seeds to pulp after blending. Complete usual steps for making paper. Seed paper can be ironed without affecting germination. 3. Fold 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 dry seed paper in half. Using gluestick, double stick tape or similar adhesive, mount folded seed paper on folded card stock. 4. Layer florist card or stamped image onto coordinating cardstock; center and mount on card front. Optional: To tint paper: Add a 2 x 2 inch section of colorful wastepaper or tissue paper to white envelopes during blending. Optional: Include directions for planting paper: Tear seed paper into 2" x 2" pieces. Lightly cover with dirt in garden or in a flower pot in a sunny window. Thoroughly water. Keep soil and seed paper moist. Watch for flowers! Make It / Sell It! Slide finished card and matching envelope into a card sleeve for professional display and protection during handling.
